Description
This is one of my student’s favorite math stations!!! They love searching through the book and looking at the illustrations to find real-world arrays for this activity. Students connect pictorial arrays to equations and strip diagrams/bar models to deepen their conceptual understanding of multiplication. I have also used this activity for small group instruction and tutoring, and my students loved it!!! This activity is intended to be used with the math literature book, Amanda Bean’s Amazing Dream, by Cindy Neuschwander and Marilyn Burns. The book is not included in this download, but most elementary school libraries have this book and it would make an excellent addition to your classroom library.
